About Rickie

My husband Tim and I, along with our first two children, moved to the Haliburton Highlands in 1978. At the time I was taking pottery classes at what is now known as The Haliburton School of The Arts. It was in 1982 when the opportunity to establish my own studio in the basement of our home presented itself. By 1983 we had four children so making pots became my job! I was involved with the Rail's End Gallery Summer Sale and sold my pots in local shops and galleries.

In 1988 I was part of the organizing committee of The Haliburton County Studio Tour. The Tour brought visitors to the studios of the artists in Haliburton and soon our studios were open all year. The Haliburton County Studio Tour is still a major event for the artists of the area.

Rickie's Studio

When I took my first pottery class over 35 years ago it was love at first touch.  Over that time my focus has been on making functional pottery that is made to be used in everyday life.  I produce a wide range of pots from small to large and have a wide variety of glazes.  I work in Cone 6 oxidation and my pots are oven, dishwasher and microwave safe.  My pots are designed to give the user many years of enjoyment with proper care.

Please see contact page for studio hours and directions to studio.
